Medpoint Mobile Ultrasound Scan Services (MMUSS)
Medpoint Mobile Ultrasound Scan services (MMUSS) is a duly registered diagnostic centre with the Health Professions Council of Zambia (HPCZ) to offer ultrasound scans service to the comfort of your home. Just make an appointment and we will come to attend to you.
Purpose
- Provide safe and effective mobile ultrasound scan services in the comfort of our clients' homes.
- Ensure quality care and patient satisfaction.
- Comply with the Health Professions Council of Zambia (HPCZ) regulatory requirements and standards.
Scope
This policy applies to all our mobile ultrasound scan staff and services provided in patients' homes.
Responsibilities
- Medpoint Mobile Ultrasound Scan staff: Conduct scans in accordance with established HPCZ protocols and guidelines. Ensure patient safety and comfort during scans. Maintain accurate records and reports.
- Scheduling and logistics team: Coordinate patient appointments and scan schedules. Ensure necessary equipment and supplies are available.
- Quality assurance team: Monitor and evaluate scan quality and patient satisfaction. Implement improvements as needed.
Equipment and Supplies
- Mobile ultrasound scan machines and probes must be functional.
- Patient examination gloves, tissue, ultrasound gel, and other necessary supplies must be readily available.
- Backup equipment and supplies in case of technical issues.
Patient Preparation and Safety
- Patients will be informed about the scan process and preparation.
- Patients for pelvic and prostate ultrasound scans will need to drink water to have a full urinary bladder.
- Patients for abdominal ultrasound scans may need to fast 6 hours prior to the scan.
- Medpoint Mobile Ultrasound Scan staff will ensure patient comfort and safety during the scan.
- For transvaginal ultrasound scans, clients will sign a consent form.
- Emergency cases will be referred to the preferred hospital for further management.
Booking Protocol and Procedure
- Wait 10 minutes for our confirmation email after booking an appointment.
- Ensure you click SUBMIT when making an online reservation.

Payments Procedure
- Payments must be done through the company account or mobile money services provided.
- VIP package available for prior emergency booking.
- Home-based scans will be charged at least 30% higher than the normal rate.
Ultrasound Scan Protocols and Procedures
- Established protocols and guidelines will be followed for each type of ultrasound scan.
- Scan findings and results will be documented according to established procedures.
- Pictures, videos, and reports will be sent via WhatsApp in printable PDF format.
Ultrasound Scan Limitations
- Quality of the scan may be affected by factors such as amniotic fluid levels, fetal position, and thickness of the mother's stomach lining.
- Different ultrasound machines provide different results and image quality.
Confidentiality and Data Security
- Patient records and reports will be kept confidential and secure.
- Electronic data will be encrypted and stored according to HPCZ guidelines.
Quality Assurance and Improvement
- Regular quality assurance reviews will be conducted to ensure scan quality and patient satisfaction.
- Improvements will be implemented as needed to maintain high standards of care.
Emergency Procedures
- Mobile ultrasound staff are well trained in emergency procedures such as first aid and CPR.
- Emergency contact information will be readily available.
Review and Revision
This policy will be reviewed and revised annually or as needed.
